8 killed and 13 wounded in new shooting in Serbia

Serbian sources announced that at least 21 people were killed and wounded in the latest shooting in this country.

According to Rossiyalum, a day after the shooting in Belgrade that killed a 13-year-old student, eight of his classmates and a security force, at least eight people were killed and 13 wounded in a new shooting near Belgrade.

State broadcaster RTS reported that an attacker armed with an automatic weapon opened fire from a moving vehicle on Thursday evening near Mladnovac, 60 kilometers south of Belgrade. The shooting happened while the police were searching for the attacker.

These sources reported the flight of helicopters over the area and pointed to the deployment of many ambulances and security forces at the scene of the accident.

Some local sources also announced that worried relatives gathered outside the emergency medical center in Belgrade, where at least eight injured were hospitalized.

Interior Minister Bratislav Gasic called this shooting a terrorist act.

It should be noted that on Wednesday, a 13-year-old student killed eight classmates and a security guard at Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in the center of Belgrade. Six students and another teacher were injured in this incident.

Mass school shootings are extremely rare in Serbia, and the country’s president, Aleksandar Vucic, called Wednesday’s tragedy one of the most difficult days in modern history.
