Instagram boss: Threads is not made for political content

According to Reuters, the head of Instagram, Adam Moussari, made it clear that there is no place for political news on Twitter’s newest competitor. He added that the new Threads program will do nothing to encourage politics and hard news.

Musari wrote: The need for scrutiny, the negativity and the risks associated with politics and hard news are not worth the conflict or more income. He added that there are other amazing topics such as sports, music, fashion, beauty, entertainment, etc. that can be used to create an attractive platform without the need to get into politics or hard news.

Metta has distanced himself from news and politics in recent years. Even last year, it removed the news from the name of the Facebook feed. The company also said it would remove news from Facebook and Instagram in the country in response to a new Canadian law requiring it to pay for local news.

Instagram’s boss later clarified his initial response, stating that while Threads won’t downgrade news or political content, it will use Facebook’s experience.

Of course, Trendz is a take on Twitter, a platform that’s showing itself under new ownership. The platform was launched last Wednesday and the number of people on it has already exceeded 70 million registrations.
